17. Pure PEDOT:PSS hydrogels

Image
As you have probably noticed, the Sciences Audio Article’s Team is very interested in the research field of polymers . This has an easy explanation, that this is one of the topics they were specialized in, so the group is trying to keep updated and to expand their polymers knowledge. In this article, the authors face one long term challenge of Science, the creation of conductive hydrogels for biomechanical applications using a single component instead of mixtures of polymeric nets. This is a big step in that direction, we hope you like the work.  Anchor / Google Podcasts / iVoox / Spotify & much more SPANISH AUDIO Pure PEDOT:PSS hydrogel printed in a pattern for a bioelectronic application Published in Nature Communications on  5 th March 2019  Baoyang Lu, Hyunwoo Yuk, Shaoting Lin, Nannan Jian, Kai Qu, Jingkun Xu & Xuanhe Zhao DOI: https://doi.org/10.1038/s41467-019-09003-5

Dreams and Accomplishments

Image
Hello, Science Audio Articles is growing up fulfilling small goals during these first months. Our long term dream is to achieve a big amount of interactions with researchers or people with curiosity for Science, but we are working and enjoying every surprise after every corner. Today, we are going to share some future goals we chase and others that we have already accomplished.  We started the project with a clear idea in mind: create a recognizable product. We consider that nobody is developing something like Science Audio Articles so far, but it would be possible that other people would start similar projects. We will support all of them keeping us open to helping or answering any question they have, but we walk our own way, for example, we try to share the paper’s audios respecting the journal point of view about the importance of the content, for instance if they tag the laboratories only like a subtitle asterisk we will keep them away from the podcast.  About our accompli...

16. Exposure to American Football and Neuropsychiatric Health in Former National Football League Players

Image
Findings From the Football Players Health Study  One of the hobbies of the Science Audio Article’s team is the american football, which generates huge amounts of scientific literature and fits perfectly in our category “Sport”. This paper explained an important issue among the professional football player, the cognitive-related consequences of multiple hits in the head along a large sport career, analysing statistical differences about its origin, like years of football, position in the field or age at the first practice of football. This topic has increased its interest in the general population since Will Smith’s film “Concussion”, which focuses on Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), and we totally recommend it to you.  Anchor / Google Podcasts / iVoox / Spotify & much more SPANISH AUDIO Published in The American Journal of Sports Medicine on 2019 Andrea L. 15. Source, Extraction, Characterization, and Applications of Novel Antioxidants from Seaweed

Image
With this series of episodes, we jumped into the field of Reviews with a topic which has been increasing its relevance during the last years: Seaweed . Side by side, we realised that sometimes a single scientific publication was too much for a single podcast of Science Audio Articles. In the past, we split some of them sharing the methods section separately from the rest of the episode, but the next logical step was to face long reviews also. To make it easier for everyone, listeners and creators, we decided to share this one in three parts, but we feel this dynamic is here to stay.  On the other hand, this is the very first article we started working with. In these old times, we just started doing our work with the hearth and maybe we took a too huge paper for that, so unfortunately, this episode never came out of the drawer, until now. We have taken off the dirt and we have done this work again from the heart and with the head also. The only unanswered question we have is why did...

The Materials & Methods Section Crossroads

Image
Hello, the project of Science Audio Articles is drawing its shape. At this point, we think the product is recognisable, which happens after only a few months and we are proud of it. The idea of creating this was flying around, but when you start laying down the thoughts, everything becomes more complicated. We are very committed to the philosophy of continuous growth, so it is an exciting process. In the near future, there will be a lot of things to polish and decisions to take, but in this post we want to talk about one: the Materials & Methods section crossroads.  We will start with a bit of context, as you know, there exist different kinds of scientific literature, Systematic Reviews, Perspectives Articles, Brief Reports, Clinical Cases, etc, and every one has its particular structure, extension rules and goals. So far, we have been focused on Original Researchers paper -despite we have already published some Review’s audio-, which usually are divided in sections namely Summ...

Whom is Science Audio Articles for?

Image
Hello! It’s been an exciting month with a generous growth of Science Audio Articles since we started sharing audios in spanish; this was only one possible objective at the beginning of our project, but the truth is this way is working and has plenty of possibilities. We have defined our product a little bit more by listening to our audience. Before our project took off, it was important to think about some characteristics, from the language used for the articles to the style of the podcasts, knowing that all the predictions could change during the development of it. Another aspect is to think of the target of people that would be interested in your product and today we are going to share ours, but at the end you will realize that there are always surprises and the predictions never score right in the middle.  Due to the highly specialized topics we bring to the platform, we thought that our main audience would be researchers of that particular area. For example, if we are talking a...
