Dreams and Accomplishments

Hello, Science Audio Articles is growing up fulfilling small goals during these first months. Our long term dream is to achieve a big amount of interactions with researchers or people with curiosity for Science, but we are working and enjoying every surprise after every corner. Today, we are going to share some future goals we chase and others that we have already accomplished.

We started the project with a clear idea in mind: create a recognizable product. We consider that nobody is developing something like Science Audio Articles so far, but it would be possible that other people would start similar projects. We will support all of them keeping us open to helping or answering any question they have, but we walk our own way, for example, we try to share the paper’s audios respecting the journal point of view about the importance of the content, for instance if they tag the laboratories only like a subtitle asterisk we will keep them away from the podcast.

About our accomplishments, you have probably notice that we shared a long review (15) for the first time, this was one of the surprises we was talking about, we realized that some scientific literature was larger than expected; in average, the audio of an article with ten pages is about a half of an hour, but the last article of Seaweed had twenty eight, with a total duration of just under one hour, fact that we consider too long for a good transmission of the topic for our listeners, so we decided to split it in three chapters and we are proud of the change, because the result is a more comprehensible pill of knowledge. With this flexibility, we want to keep developing the project in order to create a database-like podcast that brings the possibility to interested people to check a wide information of a specific topic, Seaweed, Polymers, Optics… That’s why we intercalate such different papers week by week; we could probably be more important if we would focus in one single area, but we trust in our possibilities and ambition to reach higher limits.

Last, but not least, we encourage you to give us your feedback, if you want us to treat a specific field, if you have some other recommendation or idea.

See you around!
