Whom is Science Audio Articles for?
Hello! It’s been an exciting month with a generous growth of Science Audio Articles since we started sharing audios in spanish; this was only one possible objective at the beginning of our project, but the truth is this way is working and has plenty of possibilities. We have defined our product a little bit more by listening to our audience. Before our project took off, it was important to think about some characteristics, from the language used for the articles to the style of the podcasts, knowing that all the predictions could change during the development of it. Another aspect is to think of the target of people that would be interested in your product and today we are going to share ours, but at the end you will realize that there are always surprises and the predictions never score right in the middle.
Due to the highly specialized topics we bring to the platform, we thought that our main audience would be researchers of that particular area. For example, if we are talking about polymers, we thought the main audience would be researchers of that topic or maybe workers of the plastic sector who wanted to know more about the field. For both of them, we pretend to create a product that makes that task easier, but this group of people is far from the only one who listens to our work. Another kind of researcher that can be rewarded with our platform would be those that are out of the area of the article, but close to it. Here's an example: researchers from Medicine who need a new polymeric surface that allows their cell cultures to grow better with a controlled drug release and want to know more about how these materials work or vice versa. We can also help scientists from a completely unlinked topic to see through a new window, an astrophysicist who wanted to know how a biologist faces their algae universe looking for new approaches to a cosmic question. There is a world of possibilities.
Out of the research field, we have thought of different professionals that could be interested in Science Audio Articles, imagine a journalist who is going to interview a famous geneticist about the CRISPR technique and wants to prepare himself by diving into the topic. And finally, the outsiders, people that only want to be entertained cultivating their general knowledge by listening to a podcast of a new field for them, this is -no doubt- the main group of our audience so far and we must keep feeding that curiosity.
See you around!
